how to double glaze without replacing your windows
There ' s no denying that double glazing is a brilliant concept. It makes your home warmer in winter, cooler in summer and can help to reduce your energy bills by more than 50 per cent. However, often people are concerned about the cost of replacing their existing windows, the mess it would make and what this could mean for any heritage features of their homes.
Double glazing works by creating a layer of still air between two pieces of glass, and it ' s that trapped air that provides the insulation value. But replacing your windows can be a messy business. First you need to remove your existing windows, which are often in perfect condition, aside from being single glazed, and find a way to dispose of them. This is followed by coordinating multiple contractors to carry out plastering, painting and eventual decorating.
In pursuit of an alternative that was both aesthetically pleasing and would keep his own timber windows out of landfill, Maurice
Beinat developed a revolutionary secondary glazing system called ecoGlaze ®. It delivers all of the benefits of high quality double glazing and, best of all, it ' s about 60 per cent cheaper than traditional high-quality double glazing!
This retrofit double glazing alternative integrates with your existing window frames with no structural intervention required at all. It works by adding a crystal clear acrylic panel to your existing window frame, which is held the perfect distance from the existing glass for the best thermal performance. Your windows continue to open and close normally as the ecoGlaze ® panel travels with your window as it moves.
The high-quality acrylic is secured by a border of elegant timber mouldings, that preserve and complement the character of your windows, blending perfectly with the timber frame. The acrylic panel is virtually unbreakable, making it extra safe for children and pets.
Save the expense, the fuss and the aftermath of replacement double glazing and start enjoying the thermal comfort benefits of ecoGlaze today, available exclusively from ecoMaster.

In order to meet the rising demand for security, the innovative LOCKSTAR window safety handle has been developed – a simple solution for securing windows and balcony doors in residential and office buildings. LOCKSTAR is the only window handle that combines the advantages of a mechanical handle locking device with those of an alarm function.
In developing this product, particular attention was paid to high-quality construction and maximum functional reliability, because when it comes to security, there’ s no room for compromise. While the locking device is in place, the innovative LOCKSTAR sensor system monitors any mechanical effects relative to the window, glazing and fittings. That makes a separate glass breakage sensor superfluous, and the less-than-attractive adhesive magnet is likewise a thing of the past.
Integrated LEDs display discreetly but
clearly; LOCKSTAR is on guard! It also works when the window is tilted open – another unique product feature. The handle is simple to install and requires no electronic calibration. The universal design for DIN L and R with adjustable pin length permits retrofitting to nearly all tilt and turn windows, regardless of the manufacturer.
The large number of different handle designs with three surface variants offers the customer an extremely broad selection in terms of design. One highlight in that regard is the version in which the functional window handle is harmoniously integrated into the window sash.
Additional variants permit an extended functionality and sensor system, for example, for temperature and relative humidity. In that case, a special module communicates via Bluetooth with other devices to enhance security and convenience( e. g. for heating and ventilation). A high-end variant of the
LOCKSTAR range, available from summer 2016, will offer full compatibility with leading smart home standards.
