Craig started his working life as a tradie in sheet metal and
gained experience in product development, drafting, contract
development and factory maintenance. After completing a
Production Engineering Certificate he went onto being a
Production Supervisor with R. W. Vincent Windows. With supervision
of all product lines and loads, he moved onto the powder lines
before taking up the role of National Manager for Window Systems,
responsible for service and sales licenced fabricators and the
recruitment of new fabricators. He also went back to school and
completed a Bachelor of Commerce.
Moving onto James Hardie Windows, Craig took up the job of
Sydney Operations Manager that included running the powder
coating line, the aluminium window assembly plant, the timber
window plant and the timber mill. He was responsible for
productivity, labour management, OH & S and capacity planning
and worked as part of a site co-ordination team to develop sales,
administration and operations co-operation and co-ordination.
After stints as a Project Manager and Product Engineering
Manager, James Hardie became Trend Windows and Doors
and Craig assumed the role of National Technical Manager.
In 2003, after completing his Master of Business Administration,
he took the brave step of setting up his own consultancy and
offered services to the broader window industry for the
management of business set up, commissioning of plant and
equipment, research and development of new product designs
and managing outsourcing of work for clients. This included
developing the NATA accredited laboratories for Azuma Design
and his own AFRC accredited energy efficiency simulation
laboratory.
