The AWA is not in the business of naming and shaming non-complying products . While we take non-compliance very seriously we work with our members on an action plan to resolve their issues .
AUDITING THE AUDITORS
NATA is one of the federally endorsed authorities ( the other being the well-known JASANZ ) responsible for the accreditation of inspection bodies and laboratories throughout Australia and as such provides independent assurance of technical competence through a proven network of best practice industry experts for customers who require confidence in the delivery of their products and services .
NATA audits the AWA at a very rigorous level , verifying that the AWA meets their demanding standards .
FUTURE GOALS
The AWA continues to build on consumer and industry awareness of AWA accreditation growing and promoting the importance of product compliance by working on the four pillars that support the association – compliance , technical , knowledge and communication .
“
With the issue of non-compliance in our industry being such a hot issue , home grown credible accreditation is essential .”

“
Our long-standing participation in the AWA NATA Accreditation scheme provides both transparency and assurance to our customers that they are buying a product that will perform as intended and as specified .
In my many years in manufacturing window systems , Miglas have never been asked to demonstrate compliance to AS 2047 - in my opinion , the majority of inspectors are not familiar with the code . This along with our lack of policing by regulators , continues to allow non-compliant products to be freely used without question .
Testing gives Miglas Windows peace of mind that our windows and doors meet and exceed all requirements . Rigorous testing is vital to our design and continuing product development .”
