THE Winchester Business Excellence Awards 2016, held at the Guildhall saw the‘ Millennium Egg’, a prestigious lifetime achievement award, presented to Stewart Dunn, chief executive of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.

Stewart’ s career has included working in regional publishing across the South and for a marketing and communications agency. The Egg is Winchester’ s equivalent to the‘ Lifetime Achievement’ Oscar for the local economy. It is awarded in celebration of local people and organisations that have made a significant and sustained contribution to the economy of the district.
Simon Eden, chief executive of Winchester City Council, said:“ A Winchester resident for over 20 years, in his current role at the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce he works with Government and Winchester City Council influencing policy on a wide range of issues affecting local businesses as well as providing an extensive programme of business support for its members.”

RESIDENTIAL garage in the heart of Winchester, which went under the auctioneer’ s hammer recently, secured more than the guide price due to demand.
Garage C, to the rear of 6-7 Cranworth Road, was among 145 lots being sold by regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.
Guided at £ 15,000-20,000 leasehold, the lock-up went for £ 17,000 and is similar to two others which sold last year for £ 16,500 and £ 23,000.
