ELCOME to the inaugural issue of
Winchester Resident Magazine. As
the magazine took shape immense
change occurred at a national level.
Our focus was closer to home, on the areas in
and around Winchester city centre.
The magazine is a new venture by national
and regional publisher Guy Hanson. He’s a
local chap, committed to profiling independent
businesses and the people who live and work in
our community.
I’ve talked to the Mayor of Winchester,
Jane Rutter, as she settles into her busy year,
investigated volunteer work, tapped into
the festival vibe and discovered what our
entrepreneurs and plant experts are up to.
From festivals and foodie events to family
days out and travel ideas, our commitment
is to ‘keep it local’ and feature, within these
pages, independent lifestyle and business
news. Highlighting such adds cohesion to
communities.
We love to tell a story – it might be yours –
and look forward to Winchester Resident going
from strength to strength, championing the
finest aspects of living in this beautiful area
whilst proving itself as an excellent vehicle for
promoting and showcasing local businesses,
acting as a bridge between them and their
customers.
