Bonfire night

Winchester Round Table has launched Light Up Winchester 2 – The Bright Night . The charity group seeks to raise more £ 30,000 for the local community , especially since Covid has hit income generation . Multi-site fireworks ’ displays will offer views of the city on November 6 , at 7pm , and a wax torch parade has been organised to bring the community together and brighten the streets . The Bright Night is the encore to last year ’ s record setting event which comprised a multisite synchronised display , live streamed by drones . Residents and bonfire supporters are invited to make a donation in lieu of the usual cost of their bonfire ticket ; all proceeds go directly to supporting local groups and charities for the following 12 months .
