Learning in the Library

Grade 5
Students are introduced to the library and it’s resources (including the use of
technology) through curriculum that integrates units of study with information
literacy skills. Projects throughout the year included:

Weather research and presentations
Book trailers using Animoto

Grade 5 Students take one trimester of Media Literacy.. They learn the
vocabulary associated with the media, discuss the influences of the media in
their lives, and the impact of advertising on the greater world. Students learn
how to critically evaluate various forms of media.
