15 . All injuries sustained on campus must be reported to the immediate supervising authority ( shop instructor , detail supervisor , Grounds Detail supervisor , etc .)
Athletic Training Services { 7 / 30 / 08 }
1 . Juniors and Seniors participating in sports must have an annual physical by the Team Physician . Freshmen receive their physical from their physician as a requirement of enrollment . Student athletes who become injured or have a medical condition may not return to their respective sport until they have been cleared by the Team Physician or the college ’ s Athletic Trainer . Williamson will use only the diagnosis of the college ’ s Team Physician in the event of an athletic injury or illness suffered during a supervised practice or competition .
2 . The Athletic Trainer operates under policies and procedures regulated by the college ’ s Team Physician . All students participating in varsity sports must follow the Athletic Training Room policies and procedures ( copies may be obtained from the Athletic Trainer ).
3 . Any student who is absent from class due to an illness may not participate in a game or practice on the same day as the absence .
4 . Any student who is injured in a supervised athletic activity and subsequently cannot adhere to a certain campus rule must report to the Athletic Trainer to request an excuse outlining his limitations . It is the student ’ s responsibility to obtain this limitation note from the Athletic Trainer and must carry the documentation with him at all times .
5 . Any student suffering from a diagnosed concussion must adhere to the college ’ s concussion protocol , to include rehabilitative measures outlined by the college ’ s medical and athletic training staff . Students who deviate from the concussion protocol are subject to disciplinary action .
Counseling { 7 / 17 / 07 }
Counseling services are provided through the college ’ s counseling office . A qualified counselor can assist students with personal problems , social issues , or religious concerns . Any student who is concerned about a personal or family addiction issue is strongly encouraged to seek the help of the counseling office . Williamson has a strict policy for drug and alcohol use , however sessions with the Counselor are strictly confidential in most cases . The counselor will notify a student prior to any discussion in which a report to administration is subsequently required in compliance with government legislation or college policy . While other staff and faculty cannot legally counsel students , many are willing and able to help mentor students through difficult times .
Lost and Found { 8 / 29 / 98 }
A Lost and Found is kept at the Receptionist ’ s desk . All lost items should be reported to the Receptionist as soon as possible ; all found items must be taken to the Receptionist ’ s office , where they will be temporarily stored .
Voting Policy { 7 / 19 / 21 }
Williamson students are encouraged to vote on Election Day . Students who live further than one hour away from Williamson are strongly encouraged to register for an absentee ballot in their home municipalities ( well in advance of Election Day ). Students who are within an hour commute of their polling place may request to leave after class in order to vote in person but are required to be back on campus no later than 10pm that evening . Students are advised to plan ahead for traffic , poll lines , and other delays , as well as account for other on campus responsibilities for that evening .
