Please note , the process outlined below represents the college ’ s typical process , however , this does not preclude the administration from immediately dismissing a student who commits a severe disciplinary offense .
Students enter the disciplinary process by reaching the disciplinary point threshold established by academic year noted below :
Freshmen
@
32 points
Juniors
@
28 points
Seniors
@
24 points
If a student reaches the threshold , the Vice President of Student Affairs places the student on Disciplinary Probation and notifies his mentor . Once notified , the student must schedule a meeting with his mentor and then , the President . The Vice President of Student Affairs and the mentor will monitor the student ’ s progress and the student will continue to meet with his mentor throughout Probation . If the Vice President of Student Affairs finds that the student has demonstrated progress in meeting the established probationary requirements , he may remove the student from Disciplinary Probation . ( Students removed from Probation are no longer required to meet with their mentor but may continue to do so if they wish .)
All students on Probation lose any incentives they may have earned to date including all leave privileges ( freshmen attendance rules apply ). Violation of this rule is a 32-point offense .
Should any student in the Disciplinary program continue to accumulate disciplinary points , they become subject to a Character Review Meeting according to the point thresholds noted below :
Freshmen
@
60 points
Juniors
@
50 points
Seniors
@
40 points
If , at the conclusion of a Character Review Meeting , the student is retained ( reinstated ), criteria will be established for which a Progress Review Meeting would be convened . See the sections on “ Character Review ” and “ Progress Review ” meetings for more detail .
