12 . Grills . Grills are available for student use in authorized Residence Life areas . Students must turn off the gas when finished and should report empty tanks to the Food Services Director . Students are expected to clean up after themselves , replace grill covers , dispose of trash , etc .
13 . Recreation . Students are encouraged to use the space outside of the dorms for recreation during free time , however good judgment must be used in determining an appropriate location for each activity . Whiffle ball may be played between Derrickson and C Cottage . All other long-range games should be played outside of the dorm area . STUDENTS ARE NOT RESTRICTED FROM USING GRASSY AREAS FOR RECREATION DURING FREE TIME . Students also have access to the Byers Lounge and the Student Lounge in Rowan Hall in the evenings .
14 . Visiting Another Dorm . During free time , students may not enter a dorm other than the one in which they reside .
15 . Bulletin Boards . Students are responsible to check their dorm bulletin board and electronic monitor for important information .
16 . Pets . Students may never have pets anywhere on campus . 17 . Microwave Use . Students may never leave food unattended in a microwave on campus .
18 . Paper Products . Students assigned to the bathroom and sink room details in the dorms must stock the paper dispensers in these locations ; failure to do so constitutes partial neglect of duty .
19 . Snow Removal . Students assigned to outside details must ensure that they have a shovel and ice-melt and must clear all snow that has fallen overnight prior to Morning Lineup . They must also clear all snow that has fallen since Morning Lineup prior to their 12:45pm class / shop and all snow that has fallen since Evening Lineup prior to bed check . Outside detailers are responsible for clearing snow and ice from front and rear porches , entrances , steps , and fire stairs . The Director of Residence Life will also publish specific common walkways that each individual dorm is responsible for maintaining through winter when it snows or is icy .
20 . Dehumidifiers . Students may not operate or tamper with dorm dehumidifiers .
21 . Darts . Darts and dartboards are not permitted in dorms but are available in the Rowan Hall Student Lounge .
22 . Food Services Crates . Food crates must be returned to the back-kitchen door by 10pm on Sunday . Students who leave crates in their rooms during the week will receive 4 points . If crates are found in common areas upon inspection , the assigned detailer is subject to discipline .
23 . Laundry . Students have access to multiple laundry facilities on campus , free of charge . Some dorms have internal laundry facilities ; others do not . Students should treat these machines respectfully and not overload them . Students unfamiliar with laundering clothes should ask for assistance . Students are expected to retrieve their laundry in a timely manner . Laundry left in a common area Laundry Room for more than two days may be discarded .

Dormitory Fire Safety { 6 / 3 / 20 }
Williamson College of the Trades is committed to fire safety in its dorms and elsewhere on campus . All dorms are equipped with sprinkler systems , smoke and heat detectors , fire extinguishers , emergency exit doors , and emergency lighting systems .
1 . Fire Drills . Mandatory fire drills are typically conducted at least two times per year in all dorms . These drills are jointly managed and supervised by the Vice President of Operations and the Director of Residence Life . In addition , mandatory fire drills are conducted at least once each year in academic and office buildings .
