After Hours Dress { 7 / 26 / 05 } Students may wear typical casual clothes only before or after the academic day . However , clothes with lewd sayings or images , and advertisements for alcohol or tobacco are not permitted . Earrings are permitted in After Hours Dress , UNLESS when a student is in the Dining Room or at ANY college-sponsored event . Shirts must always be worn on campus ( except during athletic activities ).
Grounds Detail Dress { 7 / 30 / 08 } The required dress for Grounds Detail is the following : long pants ( jeans are acceptable , sweatpants are not ), T-shirt ( with sleeves ), steel-toed leather boots that cover the ankle ( no sneakers or canvas boots ), and safety equipment ( eye protection , ear protection , and work gloves ). Students may wear additional shirts and jackets if they desire . All clothes must be in good condition ( no holes or tears ). In addition , students must meet the college ’ s grooming requirements when they report to Grounds Detail , including over the summer .
Casual Dress { 7 / 18 / 17 } Occasionally throughout the year , students may be directed to wear “ Casual Dress .” Casual Dress is defined as the designated polo shirt neatly tucked in ( exposed necklaces are not permitted ), belt , dark or khaki slacks worn near the waistline , dress socks , and shined shoes . The top button of the Casual Shirt is not required to be buttoned . If students choose not to dress in Casual Dress on these days or have not received their Casual Dress shirts , they must be in Classroom Dress . In cold weather , students may wear a sports coat over their Casual Shirt as part of Casual Dress . Sweatshirts are not permitted . Students may also wear an undershirt under their Casual Shirt ; they must be white with no writing or designs . Long sleeve undershirts are not permitted .
Grooming Standards – Haircut { 6 / 10 / 22 } The overarching goal is for students to present a professional and business-like image . Hair must be kept clean , neat , and natural in color . The back length may not touch the shirt collar , the sides may not touch the ears , and the overall bulk and / or length may not exceed 2 ”. Exotic or faddish haircuts ( such as mohawks or mullets ) that do not portray a professional image , are unacceptable . ( Below are examples of haircuts that meet all the grooming standards .) Please direct any additional questions on student hairstyles to the Student Affairs Office for clarification .
