Disciplinary Point System & Violations of the Conduct Code { 6 / 30 / 23 }
To help students follow the Conduct Code , the college maintains a disciplinary system involving citations for violations of the Conduct Code and the assignment of Disciplinary Points and time on Grounds Detail . Any Williamson supervising authority ( e . g ., faculty or staff member ) can cite a student for violation of the Conduct Code . Each violation correlates to a specific and standardized number of Disciplinary Points , and each time a student accrues 10 points , 1 day of work on Grounds Detail is assigned ( See “ Time on Grounds ”). In determining whether a student has violated the Conduct Code , there is a presumption in favor of the validity and justification of a faculty or staff member ’ s decision .
Typically , Minor Violations result in the assignment of 4 or 8 points , depending on the nature of the offense and Major Violations usually result in the assignment of 32 points ( in any case , no fewer than 16 points ). In certain cases , Major Violations may result in student dismissal . The assignment of points is made by college administration in collaboration with the submitting faculty / staff
