Missed Academic & Shop Work
Students are responsible for all class work and shop work missed during an absence . Students are also responsible for reaching out to their instructor to talk about missed work , deadlines , etc . Individual instructors may institute and enforce their own rules regarding either making up absence time or grade penalties for absence .
Instructors are under no obligation to make special arrangements for students with unexcused absences to make up missed work , including tests and quizzes .
Instructor Absence
If any instructor is not present at the beginning of a class period and instructions have not been given by the instructor or a staff / faculty member , one student must contact the Vice President of Academic Affairs ( or the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs , or the Registrar ) in his / her absence for further instructions . If that is not possible , students must wait in their designated classroom .
Shop Transfer { 8 / 29 / 98 }
During the first two weeks of his first semester , if a Freshman wants to transfer from one shop to another , he must see the Vice President of Enrollment Management or Vice President of Academic Affairs and complete an Initial Shop Transfer Form . If possible , the college may accommodate his request , but limits on the size of shop classes often prevent students from transferring .
