Health Risks Associated with the Use of Illicit or Illegal Drugs or Alcohol { 7 / 20 / 18 }
Medical studies indicate that users of illicit or illegal drugs or alcohol can suffer from a wide range of medical and psychological problems . Those problems can be as mild as depression or as severe as permanent brain damage or death . At the very least , use of these substances can impair one ’ s ability to learn and function in society . This promotes poor application to academics as shown by poor study habits , lack of concentration , and loss of self-esteem . Additional information on the health risks associated with the use of alcohol and illicit or illegal drugs is available through the campus health clinic , online through the college ’ s website , or the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention ( http :// www . edc . org ).
Single and Parental Regulations { 6 / 20 / 24 }
Williamson College of the Trades is structured on an immersive and demanding educational experience where residency on campus is required throughout a student ’ s tenure . As such , the college requires that a student is not married nor has support obligations for a child while in attendance . Given the nature and structure of its program of study , Williamson will likely not be able to accommodate a student ’ s request for non-residency or extended leaves of absence . If a student discovers after signing his enrollment agreement that he will become a parent , the college can work within its ability to aid the student in establishing an off-campus support structure for the child but will not significantly alter its educational program requirements .
Student Bulletin Boards
The Student Bulletin Boards are digital monitors located in the Rowan Hall Lower-Level stairwell . Information regarding academic policies , student life , and disciplinary matters are routinely posted here . In general , the Grounds Detail Schedule , AWOL List , and Report List are posted on the right side and general information notices will cycle through on the left side .
Additionally , each dorm has an electronic Bulletin Board that displays a variety of student informational notices and schedules . Students are responsible for ALL information posted . Failure to attend any meeting as indicated on the boards constitutes neglect of duty .
Student Mail
Student mail will be delivered to the Mailroom . The Receptionist will notify students when they have mail . Due to the limited holding capacity of the Mailroom , students have 24 hours to pick up their mail before disciplinary points are assigned .
Student Email Accounts
Each student is issued a Williamson email account as a Freshman . Students are required to check and maintain their email accounts . If a student ’ s account returns a “ full ” message to a sender , the student may be issued a 4-point violation . ( ALL email items , including those in the “ Deleted Items ” folder , count against a student ’ s account . Please be sure to empty your Deleted Items regularly .)
