Vehicle Registration All student vehicles must be registered on campus and must display a valid parking permit . The annual cost for a parking permit is $ 175 . However , if a student ’ s class dues are paid in full at the time of registration , the cost is discounted to $ 25 for the year . In all cases , the Receptionist must have on file :
• a completed Motor Vehicle Registration Form ,
• proof of insurance for the intended vehicle ,
• a current state registration for the vehicle
Changes to student vehicle information must be reported to the Receptionist . At Registration , students must provide consent for the college to conduct an annual vehicle operator records check . The college holds students accountable for any evidence of a violation of the Conduct Code , including the Alcohol and Drug Policy , provided in that records check .
Parking on Campus From 10pm on Sundays through Weekend Dismissal , students may park in the student parking lot with their current Williamson parking permit sticker displayed . After Weekend Dismissal and until 10pm on Sundays , students may drive to and park at Restall , Alumni Hall , the Lipp Center , and behind Rowan Hall for any special events but may not park there overnight .
Driving on Campus Students must drive safely and according to the campus speed limit ( 15 mph ) at all times . Driving and parking on the grass is strictly prohibited throughout the campus . Reckless driving ( including “ peeling out ” or “ burning rubber ”) is also strictly prohibited . Students may only access the student parking lot via Main Drive and then Schrenk ’ s Way . To drive anywhere else , the student must have written permission from a faculty or staff member .
Students are prohibited at all times from driving through the residential section of North Drive , the area between the Technical Center and Rowan Hall , South Drive , and Longstreth Court . Students are responsible for keeping their guests from driving on Longstreth Court . A helmet is required for students driving a motorcycle on campus .
Students not adhering to the campus driving requirements and speed limits may lose their privilege to bring a vehicle on the college campus .
Temporary Parking on Campus Permission for emergency , temporary parking may be granted by the Vice President of Student Affairs . The student must follow the procedure outlined in “ Vehicle Registration ,” obtain a temporary permit , and park in the student parking lot .
Student vehicles are subject to search by the administration any time they are on college property . Motor vehicle privileges may be suspended temporarily or permanently at the discretion of the Vice President of Plans & Operations or the Vice President of Student Affairs .
Background Checks { 6 / 25 / 19 }
Williamson routinely conducts background checks for currently enrolled students to ensure that students are in compliance with the standards and expectations set forth in the Code of Conduct . Additionally , these checks , once completed , are accessible to students in order to be furnished to potential employers during the interview process . Students must acknowledge and authorize Williamson to receive this information .
