Williamson ’ s Unique Approach to Education Builds Craftsmen and Instills Character

From : Arlene A . Snyder , CFRE , Vice President for Institutional Advancement
As you step onto the grounds of Williamson College of the Trades , you see the expectations of achievement for our young men . Carefully laid bricks in masonry , masterfully built furniture in carpentry , meticulous landscaping — to say nothing of the technical work of our machinists- , electricians- , and power plant operators-in-training — exhibit the work done to the best of each students ’ abilities .
And Williamson itself is working to the best of our ability . Each year we build craftsmen with a commitment to good work and an impressive level of excellence . But our work extends beyond the craftsmanship of our students . Their skills are elevated because of their dedication to discipline , respect , diligence , and service . In short , they are young men instilled with character , becoming respected citizens , and recognized leaders in their communities .
For 136 years , this college has remained committed to providing tuition and room and board for every young man who seeks to build his craft and grow in character . This mission is only possible because of those with character and a heart for good work — individuals like you . The work of Williamson is only possible because of your financial support .
I am excited to share with those that so intentionally and passionately support Williamson that in the 2023-2024 fiscal year we received over $ 12 million in charitable gifts . Over
$ 4 million of this funding was unrestricted in the Williamson Fund , exceeding our expectations with record generosity toward the scholarship support of our students . Further , 24 % of our graduates made a gift to Williamson for the second year in a row , a picture of generosity from our alumni that shows their willingness to “ pay it forward .”
Within these pages , you can see each alumnus , corporation , foundation , and friend of Williamson who sacrificially supported our young men to develop their craft and their character . I remain thankful for the many gifts to the Williamson Fund that provide for a Williamson education each year .
Further , I am grateful for those considering the future of Williamson in their plans . I ’ m thankful for the generous spirit of Joseph and Marion Wesley in joining the Wanamaker Society , making a future gift commitment to Williamson . I also celebrate the Justamere Foundation ’ s increased support of the Legacy Society , providing a second endowed scholarship that will support our students today and tomorrow .
Your partnership is building craftsmen instilled with character at Williamson . May these pages inspire you with the good work you have helped to produce in our young men . I look forward to working with you again in this new year .
