With cool weather upon us , there is no better time for the ultimate comfort food : soup . Denver Henderson , WCPL Programming Manager and soup lover will , step by step , prepare two hearty soups , bacon potato cheese and chicken . You will be able to have a bowl of soup , and take a recipe home with you . Register .
That Day in Dallas : JFK 60th Anniversary , November 15th , 6:00PM
Sixty years ago , shots rang through Dealey Plaza in Dallas , Texas ending the life of President John Kennedy , and changing the country forever . Denver Henderson will revisit Kennedy ' s presidency and assassination through photos and video clips , with emphasis on the reaction of the citizens of Williams County to the tragedy . WARNING : some images and descriptions of events may be graphic .
The Halm Brewery , November 22nd , 6:00PM
Bryan was once the home of a quality brewing company named " The Halm Brewery ". Brewing had started in Bryan due to the town being settled by German immigrants , and had the water source of the artesian wells . The Halm Brewery began in 1860s and at the peak of the company , it was selling 200 barrels of beer a week . Learn about the brewery with Local History Manager , Jared Schnee .

Join him as he recounts the stories that have intrigued him the most in his ramblings through the graveyards of the area .
Mapping Williams County : Vintage Maps & How They Are Made , November 29th , 6:00PM
Join Programming Manager Denver Henderson and Local History Manager Jared Schnee as they delve into the earliest surveying and map making of Williams County . Also covered in this program will be land records , the 1874 & 1894 county atlases and the 1904 plat book . Patrons will be able to closely exam the first map of Bryan and a recent acquisition : the famed 1864 wall map of the county .
