BLUE HAT Its amazing how somtething as simple as a hat on a table can contain so much detail when the light shines on it the right way. This is a monochromatic drawing of a hat using Adobe Illustrator on a Bamboo tablet. I started out by using the 100 line drawing and created the shape of the hat. Next, I decided on using the color blue and created my palette on the side with the different values of the blue. I started shading the darkest part of the hat and continued over with lighter shades of blue until the entire hat was colored. In order to make the hat look less stripy with each value difference, I went in between each shade of blue and lightened or darkened the color depending on what was needed to make it look more natural. When I first look at the hat, I find myself drawn more toward the darkest side first, then the lighter side, and back to the darker side. 28 - Wilderness Wilderness - 29
