What ’ s up with that ? Every Monday we get to promote higher education by wearing a shirt with our Alma Mata ’ s logo . Some of our students are researching the how ’ s and why ’ s regarding popular mottos and customs of our favorite universities .

Boy Scouts
Marie Jones , representative from the East Texas Area Council of Boys Scouts of America , presented information to our students this week .
What ’ s in a Word ?
Instead of lengthy goals and mission statements , the Story Staff is picking powerful words . We are encouraging our students to do so as well . We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on all of the things you need to accomplish … instead of kicking into overload and tons of stress … pick a word that represents all the greatness that you are striving for ; and focus on what it represents : As a principal , my word is GRATITUDE ! I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with the parents , students and teachers of this community .
Story + Style = Safety
Safety is a priority at Story , therefore , we have schedules . Both teachers and students are becoming familiar with our routines . Several students have already earned a privilege during lunch . Thank you for helping to keep our cafeteria safe , orderly and clean .
Story just received its charter from the Kiwanis organization to have its very own K-Kids club . This is a world-wide organization that provides an opportunity for students to learn about leadership through service . This club will be supported by Kiwanis volunteers and school staff members .
