Congratulations Varsity Girls Cross Country on you first place title at the Slocum Cross Country meet .
The Palestine Wildcats cross country teams both walked away with first-place finishes at Slocum ' s Mustang Invitational Friday .
The U . S . Congress will confer it ' s highest youth award , the Congressional Gold Medal , to these three outstanding young ladies in a virtual ceremony on September 26 , 2020 . In the more than 30 year history of the Congressional Award there have only been five earned by young adults in the Texas 5th Congressional District . These three won ' t get to go to the Capitol to collect their medals , but their achievements mark them forever as spectacular ladies . Aven ( on the right ) is a Senior at PHS .
