WELCOME BACK WILDCAT NATION ! The Wildcat Nation Loves Eddie B !
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year ! I hope everyone got some time this summer to do something fun and also had a chance to relax a little . We had a great summer and although it has come to an end , I am excited about all the good things the district has going on this school year .
The district ’ s Pre-K expansion at Washington E . C . C . is going exceptionally well . We are pleased that more children will benefit to an earlier start to their education . Due to the Pre-K expansion requiring all of the extra space at Washington E . C . C . ( the campus that had been home to the district ’ s daycare for several years ), PISD has opened a new daycare facility . The new PISD Employee Daycare Center is located off North Loop 256 . Parents and their children had a chance to visit the new daycare at a grand opening last week . A big thank you to the PISD Maintenance Department for creating an excellent space for the children of our employees .
Starting the year off with a little teacher humor ! In-Service 2019

The district is very pleased with the overall academic performance of the District this year . The district received a B with a total of 88 points . PHS received an A for College & Career Readiness . Southside made a great comeback with a strong B , and PJHS & PHS had math scores in the 90 ’ s .
School districts across Texas are extremely happy that the hard work of educators was recognized during the recent legislative session with pay raises that reflect the importance of educating our children . Many thanks to Senator Robert Nichols and Representative Cody Harris for working hard for education .
Have a great 2019-2020 school year !
