Palestine Cosmetology is off and running with a terrific start to a great year. They have been to CHI International Headquarters in Houston for a boot camp where they met with CHI founder, Farouk Shami. The students learned the proper ways to part and perform a basic hair cut, mix and use color, and the fundementals of CHI color. In their instructional time, they are learning how to do facials, manicures, foil highlights, bleach retouch, tint to darken, and administer a chemical relaxer process. The students have also learned about clipper cuts and clipper/scissor cuts. Mrs. Kimberly Hill has also introduced them to different clientele through visiting the nursing home. The students gave the residents manicures and were able to spend time socializing with their new clients. Many of the cosmetology students are participating in SkillsUSA and look forward to The Texas State SkillsUSA competition in Corpus Christi. The ultimate goal for the students is to get their license, and they are on track to make that goal a reality. Great things are happening in PHS Cosmetology as the students continue to grow and learn.
