Studying is one way to help you pass a test or a major/final exam. But getting and remembering all of the information can be hard. Good study habits don't come easy so it's always great to have a plan.

Learning some effective study habits can reduce some stress, but it's not a matter of simply making review cards and looking over them. Something as easy as keeping assignments and previous test can help improve study habits. Looking over the mistakes and the problems can help with the more challenging information and the difficult concepts that produce the most difficulty in understanding.

Another way to keep up with proper study habits is to have a weekly planner. Make sure to mark in the planner what days have a major test to be best prepared. Keeping a notebook or journal can help save time. Understanding a study plan helps prevent overthinking and can help reduce stress.

Consider an appropriate location to study, like the library or maybe at home in a quiet room. Some people study and work better without distractions. Always have the right study materials on hand. It can be very distracting to not have all of the necessary resources to study effectively. Also, organization can be beneficial to effective studying. Find a backpack, a box, or bag that can be easy to store your materials in.

Keep a worry pad. It's common to wonder off topic and focus about something else. With a worry pad it’s easy to write down all the things that come to mind. When the studying is over there will be plenty of time to go over the worry pad. Rules should be set about cell phones. When there’s a call it's almost certain to take away from effective studying. And remember, texting and studying never mix.
