s I start my seventh week working from home, I can confidently say that I’ve adjusted to this new normal. While I miss face to face conversations with coworkers, our daily zoom check-in with the Wildcat district staff has become a lifeline for me to the outside world. It has been a great way for us to all connect as we start our days.
During these times, the Financial Resource Management program focus team has been working hard to produce timely information for our constituents. There is a new series of “When Your Income Drops” fact sheets that are available on the K-State website. I plan to be getting that information out locally in the coming days. Those resources can be found at https://www.ksre.k-state.edu/news/stories/2020/04/set-priorities-when-income-drops.html.
Although things are very challenging right now for many local businesses, it has been encouraging to see our local communities come together to support each other. Resources are being announced daily it seems in the forms of loans, grants, fundraisers, etc. I continue to network with community leaders and share resources as much as possible.
Walk Kansas 2020 will be wrapping up in just a few days. The timing of this program worked out well this year as we were able to encourage participants to stay active during the statewide stay at home order. We are looking forward to awarding some incentive prizes when the program wraps up.
I continue to learn more about KSRE and my role as an agent every day. While trips to Manhattan were cancelled, I was still able to participate a new agent training for Foundations of Youth Development via zoom. I want to thank our incredible Wildcat District staff and board for being an incredible team to work with. We are all looking forward to a time where we can be together again in person!
