Wildcat District-Wilson County Merger Takes Shape!

April proved to be a month of non-stop activities in the Wildcat District. Much progress has been made in regards to preparing both Wildcat District and Wilson County for our merger this summer. There are many small things to be done behind the scenes – valuation, insurance, certifying of elections this fall, merging 4-H online, merging financials. Many of these items have been completed, or are in the works to be implemented smoothly at time of merger. A big thank you to Cheri Nelsen in Fredonia office for assisting me as we move forward.

We are also working on staffing plan adjustments. Cheri will be joining us as a 4-H agent, while Connie Vail will be transitioning into the 4-H Office Professional. This signals a change as Tina Oehme in Girard has been doing this; however, she has increasingly been assisting with several types of communications outreach as well. I foresee her transitioning into one of two office professional positions that will focus on communications. Due to the district's staff size and the variety of communication platforms the district currently utilizes, it is apparent we need to divide communications into two positions. This will allow us to more effectively create professional products to meet our client’s needs.

Caney Community Betterment Group continues to make strides. To join this group, you can simply print out the previous page that contains the membership form.
