n important part of programing is ensuring that the program is inclusive of people. STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) Program are no different. I had the opportunity to work with a group of adolescents who proved that anything is possible! When presenting activities to a group of individuals with a variety of skill levels it is important to be adaptable so that all can participate in the least restrictive way possible. Those adaptions can come in a variety of forms like special scissors, reading instructions aloud, or even just some positive affirmation of being on the right track. STEM activities such as creating and launching foam rockets teaches everything form measurement, angles, and altitude to practicing motor skills such as cutting and taping. STEM is for EVERYONE!
Crawford County Held their 4-H Club days in February. To demonstrate the values of the 4-H and Youth program through public presentation and evaluation of demonstrations and illustrated talks, talks, and meeting procedures. It provides additional opportunity for 4-H’ers to participate in music and drama, and to share their talents. Provide opportunity for fellowship and wider acquaintance among 4- H members. And to exchange information regarding Animal Sciences, Family Living, Individual and Community Resources, Natural Resources, and Plant and Mechanical Sciences. As well as present a favorable image to the public and promote 4-H.
The youth development continues with planning summer camps, 4-H Council/ Junior Leaders meetings, School Programming, and much more. Positive youth development comes in a variety of form. I would encourage all youth to get involved!
