started out this month by finishing up our trip to Scotland and Ireland.
Next week, I had three-day livestock judging camp with over 45 different participants and an average attendance of 35 each day. Wildcat Extension District had participants from Crawford, Labette, Montgomery and Wilson counties. Our hosts included Messner Show Pigs, Caney; McNickle Charolais, Mound Valley; and Mein Show Lambs and Goats, Girard. A special thanks to Katie Rohling, Brian Anderson, Jennifer Martin, and Tim Hubbard for helping with Camp.
During the week of July 18-20, we attended OSU Big 3 field days in Stillwater with 21 different 4-H members attending. Wildcat Extension District was well represented with 11 Seniors and 10 Juniors. Our Junior Team placed ninth overall out of over 70 teams and our Senior Team was second place overall and won swine. Tyler Sale earned first place individual over all three days and second place in cattle. Jake Keene earned first place in swine. Justin Messner earned fourth place in swine. Katie Zwahlen earned fifth place overall Jr and first place in sheep.
July 21, we harvested our Teff fertilizer plot. I also assisted with the 4-State Farm Booth on Sunday. I also acted as emcee of the Haying demonstration. I wrapped up the month by helping with the Labette County Fair.
