Recently a Gorilla lost her baby in an accident at a Zoo. With a group of wonderful individuals who meet montly to mediate for Earth peace and harmony we decided to include a meditation with/for this Gorilla mother. When I conneced with her, I sensed a great deal of distress and anguish. It was so palpable and the Gorilla was holding out he hand to us all for assistance. She was grieving for the loss of her infant. Spontaneously, an energetic version of her baby was sent to her and she was able to cradle it in her arms (we were holding space for this to transpire). This soothed her greatly, the closure and real mourning had begun for her. We saw her cradling her energetic baby for a long while. She said that this had not been allowed for her after the accident and occurred and was so grateful that we gave her this opportunity. Even though it would not bring back her deceased infant it allowed her to move into the grieving stage. We were grateful to be able to assist in any way we could so this being would be able to move forward.
Feelings are Real
When animal companions lose a beloved friend or human they do grieve. They feel loss. So when you lose a companion in the family be sure to include other animal companions in the healing process. I find animal companions respond well to flower essences during these circumstances. This is so for humans also. i recently provided ceremonial services for an animal who was assisted to transition over the rainbow bridge. The little being had become incontinent and life was very difficult. When I explained what was going to happen, she was happy to move over the rainbow bridge as she was so tired and had physical pain.
On the day we communicated each and every part of the process so she was aware of what was transpiring. It was not free of emotion for all present, but to be there assisting all beings gently was a privilege and honor. I have checked on the transitioning animal companion mentioned and she is indeed doing well.
The Gorilla female is still grieving but doing better. Ceremony and communication assists to buoy both animals and humans on all levels. Animals teach us that the human perspective is but one of the many available.
