In early summer, water levels in the river streams and creeks are at their best. Trout have settled into their lies and their days are becoming routine. Mornings are still fairly cool, and although hatches are becoming more frequent, there will be a lot of quiet time. It’s during these spells that patterns come into their own. There’s no guess work to it, these searching patterns often resemble food that’s available year-round like leeches and minnows. Work the Straggle Zonker through on a sink tip where you think the trout are likely to lie and chances are you’ll get a reaction.
