This town is known for its big goose, but there is plenty more to see and do. For people who love to take in the fall colours, Wawa is a key location. The town is nestled between Lake Superior and Wawa Lake, just a few minutes off Highway 17. One of the main outdoors attractions is Scenic High Falls. This site provides a full covered picnic pavilion and washrooms, along with an interpretive trail from the bottom to the top of the falls. The trail affords great views of the Magpie River gorge. A ten-minute drive from town lands you at Sandy Beach. This site provides spectacular views and an eco-interpretive park. The park hosts a story telling pavilion to learn about the First Nations people who first settled the area, famous artists who spent time on the shores of Lake Superior and much more.
