Frisbees, footballs, frostbite and other fun on the ice
BY BRUCE HEIDMAN
For Wild Northerner
I’m not a great ice fisherman.
In fact, as the nice folks who run this publication can attest, I’m not even a decent ice fisherman, if catching lots of fish is the barometer of such things. (Publisher’s note: I think Bruce is a fine hardwater fisherman, especially since he puts up with me getting him to go out before the sun comes out.)
But that’s not what this story is about. OK, it’s about ice fishing, but not necessarily catching fish.
Ice fishing is a fantastic family and group activity, the more the merrier, as far as I’m concerned, and catching fish is merely a bonus.
