High-Performance Solid Carbide End Mills
Trochoidal Milling
Conventional Slotting
• Full slotting limitations:
— Usually not more then ap = 1 x D.
— Conventional and climb milling at the same time.
— High heat development on the tool and on the workpiece.
— Diffi cult chip evacuation.
— High radial forces.
• This means:
— No constant chip thickness.
— Low MRR.
— Surface quality from the left to right side are different.
— Limited tool life.
— High power and torque requirements for the machine.
