The Westin Excelsior
Dazzling panoramic views from atop the Westin Hotel Excelsior are perhaps the most iconic in all of Florence. The chic SE-STO restaurant and bar commands dazzling views over the Arno River with sweeping views of the city. This is a pricey but memorable choice offering contemporary Mediterranean cuisine in its indoor bar and restaurant and the delightful outside terrace.
Hotel Continentale La Terrazza Bar Florence
This wonderful rooftop restaurant and bar was shared with us by a local leather merchant who promised it was a hidden gem in the city, and indeed it is! When we visited in early September we nearly had the entire outdoor terrace to ourselves. While not as elevated as some, the relaxing terrace enjoys views of the Arno River and looks directly at the Ponte Vecchio. This is a great place to rest your weary feet and enjoy a memorable view.
