Atlanta National 18-hole Golf Group
Hey ladies,
We are getting more and more golfers out here at Atlanta National
and we are excited about the participation. This summer, we
have already had many Ladies’ Golf Events. Read on for more
summer golf activity.
We also have an upcoming Ladies Member/Member which will be
held on Wednesday, July 23rd, so get yourself a partner and plan on
signing up for this great event. It will be best ball between the 2 players
and will be a lot of fun. Check with the Pro-Shop to get signed up to
play-when it gets closer. You won’t want to miss this one.
Also, don’t forget, Tara will be held at White Columns on
Wednesday, July 30th so plan to be there and Play, it’s always
great to have a big showing from Atlanta National.
Make sure you get yourself a partner and get signed up for the
Member/Member and mark your calendars for these tournaments
and events.
Happy Golfing!

Rules Tip:
During the Atlanta Open we had two situations where a player
assumed his ball was lost in a water hazard and they took relief
according to that rule (Rule 26). In both cases neither player had
“knowledge or virtual certainty” that their ball was in the hazard.
In order to proceed under the water hazard rule, you have to
have one or the other. If you didn’t see it actually go in and stay
in the hazard then you need to ask yourself – where else could
it be – if there is high rough, trees, bushes, waste area, etc. then
you need to be pretty certain it is lost in the hazard – otherwise
you must proceed under the lost ball rule. In both the situations
mentioned above, the players dropped and played from a
wrong place and were required to play for a correct place and
incurred a 2 stroke penalty in addition to the one stroke penalty
for a lost ball.
Atlanta National
Ladies’ 9 Hole Golf
Group
The Atlanta National 9 hole
ladies group welcomes
anyone interested in playing
on Wednesday mornings.
We tee off at 8:30am, right
after the 18 hole ladies
group. We are a group
of ladies who are new to
golf, returning to golf, or
don’t have the time for 18
holes. All levels of play are
welcome and encouraged
to join us. We are a social
group – we get together for
lunch, attend club social
events, and gather for
outside activities as well.
We typically play a game
(scramble, best ball, etc.) on
Wednesday mornings and
rotate pairings so that we all
have the opportunity to get
to know each other. All age
groups are represented in
our group and we’d love for
you to join us.
