How has it changed since you joined?
Well first of all the Phamily has really grown and continues to grow. I think that right now the Phamily is in the awkward teenage stage, where we are finding out what works and what doesn’t. Implementing actions that we need to continue our growth and success, and getting rid of those things that have become a hindrance and aren’t necessary. As a Phamily we’ve had some hills to climb, but I see it as having brought us all closer together and a stronger unit. In my time in Kappa Psi Kappa and as a member of this Phamily, I have seen organizations come and go, but this Phamily has endured and will continue too.
Has has the organization changed you?
First and foremost, TKPhi has helped me to learn my limits. I now know, not that I always do mind you, when I need to step back and take a breather. Before I would just continue to push myself, until I was burnt out. But I love this organization and these people too much to allow myself to be burnt out so I’ve learned that I can’t do everything and it’s alright to ask for help. Second, I have learned there are people in this world who want nothing more than for you to succeed, nothing else, no strings attached. I have made some incredibly close, coveted and much loved friends, PHortified, PHortress, SeKwAl, HavoK, Klosure and Sabotage have become next of kin to me. I love everyone in this Phamily, but those six have become closer to me than some blood relatives. I never thought that could happen. And I am so glad that it did. And lastly I never knew that I would be married to like a whole organization. Especially an organization of dominant women! I am SUCH an Apsi groupie!!!

What do you find most fulfilling about being event planners?
The most fulfilling part, for me, is the fact that I am helping to create the memories that we all share as a Phamily. It’s nice knowing that every time someone reminisces about an event that I help plan and implement, I helped create that memory in even the smallest way. That’s really something.
What are some challenges encountered as an event planner?
Trying to make sure that everyone is happy and accommodated. I know that in planning these events that I can’t please everyone 100%, but we strive for 99.9% and that is difficult.
What are some events you would like to see for the organization?
I would love to see a party, a really nice shindig for TKPhi’s founding anniversary. A function that the three organizations help fund, along with fundraising from the members; that is open to everyone. No registration or business, but just a nice city, a nice venue, and a really nice party or gala to celebrate our awesome and powerful Phamily.
How long have you been in the organization?
July 27 will mark my six year anniversary. And it makes me especially proud to say that I have been active on all fronts for those years.
