  Winter 2014-2015, Page 8 ​ ​ 2014 ​ ​ It’s official! 2014 is gone for good. However, it was definitely a busy year. Some of the hot topics include Robin Williams, Ebola, and drones. Robin Williams was a very popular actor. He starred in many different movies, including ​ Dead Poet’s Society​ the very popular Aladdin.​ and ​ Throughout his career, he has won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, two Emmy awards, six Golden Globe awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and five Grammy awards. Needless to say, he was a fantastic actor. Unfortunately, we are sorry to report that this actor has died in his home at the age of 63. His legacy, however, lives on in his movies. Another hot topic is the Ebola crisis. The Ebola virus is a deadly virus that has killed at least 8,810 people, and that number is still climbing rapidly. Some of the symptoms of Ebola include fever, headache, chills, weakness, rash, and stomach pain. The majority of the outbreak has occurred in Africa. However, other affected countries include France, The United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, and the Netherlands. Scientists are currently working to create a cure for Ebola.
