Lyde Green is a new development by Taylor Wimpey, part of
the parish of Emersons Green and bordering the Bristol and Bath
Science Park and the Bristol ring road. It’s perfectly placed for
commuting into the city centre or for further afield.
Sports, leisure and entertainment are all within easy reach. Lyde Green
sports ground is the home of Longwell Green Sports FC’s, and there
are leisure centres nearby in Kingswood, Yate and Longwell Green for
swimming, gym workouts and fitness classes. There’s also a cinema,
bowling alley and restaurants at the Aspects Leisure Park. Supermarkets
and other large stores are at Emersons Green (one mile) and at Longwell
Green (five miles).
Living at Lyde Green means you are just nine miles from the centre of
Bristol which boasts a huge selection of shops, amenities and leisure
facilities. Enjoy musicals at the Bristol Hippodrome, live music at Colston
Hall, a family day out at Bristol Zoo Gardens or the SS Great Britain, plus lots
of live sports including football, rugby and cricket.
Education
Lyde Green Primary School has been built recently to serve the growing
local community. Other schools nearby include Emersons Green Primary
School and Mangotsfield School for students aged 11-18 years. For post-
18 education, Bristol is also home to two highly-regarded universities.
Transport
Lyde Green sits on the Bristol ring road, giving great access to all parts
of the city. It’s a short drive away from the M4, with easy commuting to
Cardiff and Swindon and the M5 . A park and ride bus service travels
into the centre of Bristol, Yate, the University of the West of England
and Kingswood. Regular train services to London, Bristol Wales and the
Midlands go from Bristol Parkway, and Bristol International Airport is 16
miles away.
