Although a village in name, Bishop’s Cleeve
has the amenities of a small town, with a
variety of shops, supermarkets, pubs and
schools.
There are plenty of clubs and organisations in
the village to help you immerse yourself into the
community. And there are several annual events
for your calendar including the street fair, fireworks
display and festive Christmas market.
There are a variety of shops in Bishops Cleeve,
including Tesco and Co-op supermarkets, plus a
number of pubs and restaurants. And the centre
of Cheltenham, which is less than five miles away,
has some of the best known high street brands,
plus a fantastic selection of restaurants and cafes,
cinemas, nightclubs and the Everyman Theatre.
Cleeve Sports Centre at Cleeve School has a fully
equipped gym and facilities to book including
tennis courts, the school field and sports hall to help
you keep fit. There’s also a village football club
and bowling club, while Cleeve Hill Golf Club is a
challenging course for golfers of all levels. While
every spring Cheltenham hosts the world-renowned
Cheltenham Festival, the highlight of the country’s
horse-jumping season, which brings racing fans from
across the country to the town.
There are two primary schools in the village,
Grangefield Primary School and Bishop’s Cleeve
Primary Academy. There’s also a 1,650 pupil
secondary school, Cleeve Secondary School. For
post-18 education the University of Gloucestershire is
just a few miles away in Cheltenham.
Bishops Cleeve is close to M5 and M50, plus the
A40 for Oxford, which makes it a great location for
commuting. And Cheltenham Spa railway station is
just a five mile drive away and boasts excellent links
to Birmingham, Bristol and beyond.
The Cleevelands Medical Centre is home to two
local NHS GP surgeries, while Cheltenham General
Hospital is just five miles away. There are also two
dentists in the village.
