Follow in the footsteps of Vancouver-born
Ryan Reynolds—or rather, those of his
fabulously foul-mouthed alter ego, Deadpool—
with a visit to the Georgia Viaduct. This
pedestrian-friendly overpass is where the
explosive car-and-motorcycle chase took
place in the first Deadpool movie, as well as
where villain Francis was finally defeated.
Want to see where Vanessa was kid-
napped? Check out Arch Alley, near Victory
Square. Relive action-packed scenes from
Deadpool 2 under the Granville Street Bridge,
or at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam.
Riverview also makes an appearance in the
TV show Riverdale, as the group home where
Betty went to visit her sister, Polly. Less than
an hour away, picturesque Alouette Lake in
Golden Ears Provincial Park—where Jason
Blossom’s fateful boat ride was filmed—is
perfect for a sunny day of hiking or canoe-
ing. Short on time? No problem: strike your
best rich-kid pose outside The Permanent
in Gastown, a swanky heritage building that
moonlights as Veronica Lodge’s apartment.

While you’re in Gastown, stop at the
Gassy Jack statue at Maple Tree Square, where
Christian saved Anastasia from a reckless
cyclist in Fifty Shades of Grey. Stroll along the
seawall to Stanley Park for a visit to Beaver
Lake to recreate the couple’s steamy kiss, or to
meet the area’s furry little lumberjacks. And if
it’s a go-big-before-you-go-home kind of trip,
book the Mr. Grey Package at the Fairmont
Hotel Vancouver, which stood in as Portland’s
Heathman Hotel. And yes, this is where they
filmed the infamous elevator scene.
Once Upon A Time recently got its fairy-tale
ending, but the magic lives on in Richmond’s
historic fishing village, Steveston, site of the
fictional town of Storybrooke. The former
Nikka Fishing & Marine building is immediately
identifiable as the library clock tower, even
without its CGI clock. Indulge dreams of pirate
life at the Third Avenue Pier, where Captain
Hook’s ship was once docked, and make sure
to snap a selfie at the Cannery Cafe, the real-
life exterior for Granny’s Diner.
