Sole Mates
At some point, every
woman has craved the cute
factor of high heels built for
teens, but with the comfort
of footwear Granny can
walk in all day long. We’ll
let you in on a secret: high
heels don’t have to be
torture devices. Believe it
or not, they can feel good,
too. These boho-chic
wedges from Geox (page
35) are a shoo-in for cutest
shoes of summer. They’re
also light and durable, with
a memory foam insole
for comfort and cushion-
ing, and a perforated sole
designed for breathability
and grip. Feet, meet your
new best friends.
Wearable Art
Seeking a superb souvenir? Local designer Chloë
Angus teamed up with First Nations artist Clarence
Mills to create the perfect West Coast memento:
capris with a modern Haida design. Made from
soft bamboo, these comfy leggings are ideal for
everything from sightseeing in the city to stroll-
ing along the shore to lounging on the couch.
Find them at www.chloeangus.com, or make an
appointment at the Chloë Angus studio (page 29).
New in Town
Attention, coffee connoisseurs: Nespresso
(page 38) recently opened its first stand-
alone boutique in BC. In addition to selling
coffee capsules and machines, the shop
showcases the brand’s sustainability
initiatives: tabletops made out of coffee
grounds, wood sourced from reforestation
programs, and systems that reduce energy
and water. Plus Nespresso has launched
a pilot project with Recycle BC to collect
used pods. Time for a coffee break!
