The Great Canadian
Maple festival
On top of offering an all-you-
can-eat brunch menu, Stanley’s
has a petting zoo, horse-drawn
sleigh rides, and opportunities
to see the sap turn to syrup. Its
season runs from Feb. 24 to
April 8. Maple Fest at Proulx Farm,
which is Feb. 25 to April 15, has
a large brunch buffet that offers
many traditional meals from the
Proulx family recipe book,
including pea soup, grilled
maple ham, local sausages, and
maple-glazed carrots. Dedicated to the sweet amber
syrup, this festival aims to be the
epitome of winter Canadiana.
Maple producers offer tradi-
tional treats and fun variations
on staples like s’mores, poutine,
and even beer. The March
festival includes entertainment
in the form of chainsaw cutting
and axe throwing competitions
as well as music and family fun.
