Rideau Canal Skateway
The hub of the festival is the world’s largest skating
rink, which spans 7.8 km, and is the main venue for
many sporting events. The Winterlude Triathlon
(Feb. 3) includes skating the Canal’s entire length,
skiing in the Arboretum and running on Dow’s Lake.
The annual 38th Accora Village Bed Race (Feb. 17)
sees 50 teams don costumes and decorate beds on
wheels to careen down the Canal. And the second
annual Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival will speed
across Dow’s Lake on Feb. 10.
