Historica : Here ’ s My canada From the invention of basketball to the discovery of dinosaur bones , Historica ’ s famous Heritage Minutes offer up pure Canadiana . In 2017 , the organization is challenging Canadians to create their own short videos about what this country means to them through a multilingual , nationwide contest called Here ’ s My Canada . There are some big prizes up for grabs : gift cards for Air Canada and Via Rail , an iPad mini and even cold hard cash . To participate , just shoot some original video , edit the footage down to 30 seconds , add music , filters or text and submit before the contest closes on Aug . 31 . heresmycanada . ca
indspire youtH Laureates cross canada tour For Indspire , celebrating Canada ’ s 150th means celebrating young people . The annual Indspire Awards recognize the accomplishments of outstanding indigenous professionals and youth . In in 2017 , Indspire is calling on some of its most impressive past winners to lead the Indspire Youth Laureates Cross Canada Tour . On March 23 , the journey kicks off in Ottawa , and throughout 2017 the tour makes stops in Montreal , Winnipeg , Saskatoon , Calgary , Vancouver and Yellowknife . Can ’ t make it to a tour stop ?
