FOSSIL FUN
To coincide with the launch of a newly
improved and enlarged exhibit hall,
The Manitoba Museum has installed
a larger than life exhibit. World’s
Giant Dinosaurs features fossils,
casts, robotics, and videos that show
how these beasts evolved to such
immense size. See twenty enormous
dinosaur skeletons and robots,
reaching more than 60 feet in length,
and learn about the latest scientific
discoveries to have been made about

UKRAINIAN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL
CENTRE (OSEREDOK) Interpretive exhibits examine
the diversity of the Ukrainian experience in Canada.
Home to the largest collection of Ukrainian cultural and
historical artifacts in North America. Houses a museum,

BRUCE D. CAMPBELL FARM AND FOOD DISCOVERY
CENTRE Explore the connection between food and
farming through interactive exhibits aimed at families and
children grades 4-9. Visitors learn about agriculture, from
seeding to exporting to at-home preparation, with hands-on
activities like a mock combine, virtual pig sonogram and
flour mill. Open Tue-Sat 10 am-4 pm. Admission: adults

CANADIAN FOSSIL DISCOVERY CENTRE See ancient
preserved bones and Canada’s largest mosasaur, Bruce, at
the Fossil Discovery Centre. The hills of Morden are rich in
fossils and it is the CFDC’s mission to collect and preserve

CENTRE CULTUREL FRANCO-MANITOBAIN Historical
and genealogical resources on the province’s French-
Canadian and Métis population, as well as an art gallery,

JEWISH HERITAGE CENTRE OF WESTERN CANADA
The Marion and Ed Vickar Jewish Museum is the first of
its kind in Canada and showcases rotating exhibits. Also
houses the Genealogical Institute, The Jewish Historical
Society Archives and the Freeman Family Foundation

hilltop slides are visible as you head east on Hwy 1 out of
the city. Ten waterslides, mini-golf, hot tub and large play

PLANETARIUM AT THE MANITOBA MUSEUM You’ll
have stars in your eyes as overhead images explore the
universe and probe scientific fact and fiction. The first
planetarium in Canada to use Digistar® 5 All-Dome state-

enhances the experience using two wide-angle video
projectors to cover the dome with a seamless image. Call

SCIENCE GALLERY AT THE MANITOBA

science centre. Learn about science through high-tech

TINKERTOWN Opens May 13 Family amusement park
caters to kids with 20 adult and pint-sized rides and a train
that runs the perimeter of the park. Also concessions, mini-

HISTORICAL SITES
THE FORKS NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE AND PORT A
gathering place for 6,000 years, The Forks was the hub
of the western fur trade as early settlement began. Later
it became the home of the Canadian National Railway’s
maintenance shops. Today, the site is the city’s top tourist
attraction and includes a nine-acre interpretive park and
adjoins The Forks Historic Port and Assiniboine Riverwalk.
Head indoors to the market or Johnston Terminal for
