Celebrating 60 years of
creating memories in Winnipeg

I
n 1958, Wallace Guberman, with his
brother Monty, opened The Original
Pancake House on Pembina Highway.
The restaurant rapidly became a popular
favourite for family outings, business
lunches, student gatherings and special
occasions. The brothers subsequently
opened several other Pancake Houses
around the city and 60 years later our
four locations are still thriving.
We remain family-owned with strong ties
to the Winnipeg community and take
pride in using Manitoba products of the
highest quality. For generations families
have made us part of their tradition and
now bring their children for the same
casual ambiance, attentive service and
scrumptious food they have enjoyed.
Today our menu has evolved to appeal
to all ages and tastes. Using time-tested

recipes, we prepare our batters fresh
daily from whole, natural ingredients.
Our famous oven-baked Giant Apple
Pancake topped with cinnamon-sugar
glaze has become a Winnipeg staple and
is reason alone to pay us a visit.
As we have grown, we have never
forgotten the basis for our success: an
exceptional customer experiences based
on friendly service and delicious food.
You realize there is only one “Pancake
House” as soon as you are welcomed
into our store with a steaming cup of our
specially-blended coff ee. Our spectacular
newest location, on McGillivray
Boulevard is nothing short of a re-
defi nition of the Pancake House.
Thank you, Winnipeg, for helping write
our ongoing story.
