Last  Look BY M AT T HEW ST E PA N I C After over a century of service, the original Walterdale Bridge has been replaced with this modern arch that makes for a stunning addition to the city’s skyline. Though the delayed construction project took over four years to complete, it became a celebrated piece of infrastructure when it opened to drivers in mid-September. The original bridge was named after John Walter, a local entrepreneur who—among his many businesses—operated a ferry near the bridge’s current location. This bridge spans the North Saskatchewan River, connecting the intersection of Queen Elizabeth Park Rd. and Walterdale Hill to the River Valley Rd., Rossdale Rd., and 105 St. intersection on the north side.
