SHAME AND PREJUDICE June 17 - September 10 Toronto artist Kent Monkman is inviting Canadians to learn more about their own history with his exhibition Shame and Prejudice: A Story of Resilience at Glenbow museum and gallery. The exhibition takes viewers on a 300-year journey of Canada’s history through the lens of Indigenous experience and resilience. Part of the exhibition includes a collection of Monkman’s paintings that portray historical and contemporary issues impacting Indigenous people, including residential schools and the reserve system — subjects not typically found in art history (page 27). — Silvia Pikal gift shop and special kid’s activities with mascot Sparky the Fire Dog. 271 Midpark Blvd SE, 403-460-5308. www.calgaryfiremuseum.com GLENBOW Western Canada’s largest museum, with 20 galleries.
