P atio season is upon us and that is a wonderful thing. No matter what neighbourhood you find yourself in, chances are there’s a neighbourhood pub, café, or restaurant with a sunny seat waiting for you. Here are ten places where you can find elevated food and service and plenty of sunshine. Al fresco fine dining, if you will. ALFORNO BAKERY Don’t let the casual counter service fool you, Alforno’s Italian menu is notably thoughtful and perfect for summer dining. Their covered patio is street-facing, but it is mere steps away from Prince’s Island Park. Share a classic and delicious margherita pizza, a couple glasses of wine, and a flaky, butter apple hand pie before strolling along the Bow River as the sun sets (page 47).
