What’s the best way to celebrate Canada
150 in Calgary?
By bike. Calgary has the largest bike network
in all of North America, and for the most part
the city is flat, which makes biking through
our inner city and parks a breeze.
What’s your favourite thing to do in
Calgary in the summer?
The name misleads you, but the Skyline Luge
at WinSport (page 34) is hands-down my
favourite. It’s basically real life Mario Kart.
Make sure you do it at least three times, and
then you’ll be addicted.

Favourite cheap eat in town?
Cluck ‘n’ Cleaver (page 60) makes amazing
southern fried chicken. It also happens to be
Nicole Gomes’ restaurant, who just won Top
Chef Canada All Stars, so you know it’s great.
What’s the best place to take a selfie?
The Peace Bridge and The Wonderland
sculpture. They never take a bad photo.
What’s your favourite restaurant for a
business meeting?
The patio at Last Best Brewing (page 56) is
the perfect summer destination… even if you
have to work.
Where are the locals hanging out?
There’s a reason everyone across Canada
has heard of the Ship and Anchor (page 56),
that’s because it’s one of the coolest spots in
Calgary. If the patio is packed, don’t worry,
there’s an official rule at the Ship where you
can join a table. Don’t be shy, squeeze in and
meet some new people.

What’s the best place to get a souvenir
from Calgary?
I love Inglewood (page 74). It’s a mix of
stores that have been around forever, and
cool new shops that remind me of places
like Brooklyn. It’s impossible to leave the
neighbourhood empty handed.
