Calgary has the largest bike network in all of North America, and for the most part the city is flat, which makes biking through our inner city and parks a breeze. What’s your favourite thing to do in Calgary in the summer? The name misleads you, but the Skyline Luge at WinSport (page 34) is hands-down my favourite. It’s basically real life Mario Kart. Cluck ‘n’ Cleaver (page 60) makes amazing southern fried chicken. It also happens to be Nicole Gomes’ restaurant, who just won Top Chef Canada All Stars, so you know it’s great. What’s the best place to take a selfie? The Peace Bridge and The Wonderland sculpture. They never take a bad photo. What’s your favourite restaurant for a business meeting? The patio at Last Best Brewing (page 56) is the perfect summer destination… even if you have to work. Where are the locals hanging out? There’s a reason everyone across Canada has heard of the Ship and Anchor (page 56), that’s because it’s one of the coolest spots in Calgary. If the patio is packed, don’t worry, there’s an official rule at the Ship where you can join a table. Don’t be shy, squeeze in and meet some new people. 10 where.ca JULY/AUGUST 2017 What’s the best place to get a souvenir from Calgary? I love Inglewood (page 74). It’s a mix of stores that have been around forever, and cool new shops that remind me of places like Brooklyn. It’s impossible to leave the neighbourhood empty handed.
