A SINGLE SUPPER
Longing for some conversation? Belly up to the bar and
open the lines of communication with the bartender
and other patrons. Prefer to keep your own company? A
corner table and a pint are all you need.
KENSINGTON PUB
The homey vibe is real here, with multiple smaller rooms
and a menu of stick-to-your-ribs English comfort food
like Guinness stew and bangers and mash (page 42).
NATIONAL ON 10TH
There’s really three venues rolled into one here. The main
floor is a pub with dozens of beers on tap (nearly half
brewed in Alberta) and a robust menu. Head downstairs
for 10-pin bowling, or find the Bourbon Room on Fridays
and Saturdays for a flight of whiskey (page 44).
THE BLUES CAN
As the name would suggest, this swingin’ joint is all
about live blues music. There are performances every
night of the week, and the menu is an homage to the
masters with dishes like jambalaya and blackened catfish
(page 42).
